Judy Curry
Allen Park, MI
Judy Curry is a transplanted Canadian living and working in the Detroit,
Michigan area. In the late 1960¹s and early 1970¹s she attended Center for
Creative Studies (currently College of Creative Studies) in Detroit. Further
study in recent years has been with internationally known watercolor painters
Judi Betts and Edee Joppich and with Robert Maniscalco and Shirley Ciungan.
In the past several years, with a focus on watercolor and watercolor with ink,
her work has been juried into national and regional exhibits and won numerous
awards. These venues include the Tubac Center For The Arts in Tubac, Arizona,
the Our Town exhibition at the Community House of Birmingham, the Visual Arts
Association of Livonia, the Art Ambience Annual Show and the Wayne County
Artists Among Us show. She has had one person exhibits at C.C. Neal Art Gallery
and the Taylor Library and her work has been part of exhibits at Ambleside
Gallery of Grosse Pointe, Biddle Gallery of Wyandotte, Dearborn City Gallery,
Downriver Council for the Arts Home Gallery, the Maniscalco Gallery of Detroit,
the gallery of Madonna University, Plymouth Arts Council Gallery, Rivers Edge
Gallery of Wyandotte and the Scarab Club of Detroit. Her work can be found in
private collections in the United States and Canada and in corporate
collections, including those of Blue Cross of Michigan, Southland Eye Clinic and
the permanent collection of the Downriver Council for the Arts. She continues to
work with all subject matter in traditional, transparent watercolor and more
experimental work with water media and mixed media with collage.
