THE ART OF DONI MOXLOW
Some of Doni’s earliest memories are of her introduction to art at the age of 3, and the subsequent nurturing of her inherent talent by her loving grandmother, and noted Detroit artist, Agnes Seguin. That began a life-long journey of artist learning and expression. A long-time resident of Grosse Ile, Michigan, Doni has spent much of her life on and near the waters and islands of the Great Lakes. They have become the backdrop for many of her works which include wildlife, nautical scenes and significant architecture from historic waterfront communities. As a child and young adult, her talent was obvious and led to several awards for her work exhibited at art shows. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education from Michigan State University, completed various post-graduate courses in art and art education and participated in an art study tour to London, Moscow and St. Petersburg. After teaching art for a time, other life priorities caused a detour in her career as family responsibilities left little time to pursue her art. But, over the intervening years, her passion for art continued and with a renewed commitment to artistic expression, myriad life experiences from which to draw upon, and the time to devote to perfecting her techniques, Doni has re-emerged as one of the premier artists of the area |
