Earlier he completed a Ford tool and die apprenticeship, combined with years of college level commercial art and technical illustrating as background he gained from Western Michigan and University of Michigan, he transferred into the Ford Design Center in 1967. During the 32 years with Ford his job responsibilities were many and varied, including designing, prototype fabrication, sculpturing and auto related art. For a short time he worked as a hard hat salvage diver, he still dives. 2004, Mr. Reaume nearing 70, is painting pictures again though not auto related, it is the art form he was caused to sacrifice to earn a livelihood; -- his mention of the time lost not painting fine art, "It was a 40 year hiatus, though mentally I mixed colors and I painted an arty picture every day. The downside was, my personal portfolio remained very thin and empty, now I'm painting only the subjects I like." NS/NS interview by: D. Steinbach
